FG scales up action on climate changeUnited Nations has called for commitment to restoring the planet and making peace with nature. In his message to mark this year’s International Mother Earth Day, yesterday, UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, said the event took place as the planet was at “a tipping point” and humanity continued to abuse the natural world. xCoincidentally, global leaders gathered, yesterday, at the leaders summit in United States to underscore the urgency of immediate and stronger climate action. The secretary-general said ending the war called for “bold climate action” to limit global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius. MEANWHILE, the Federal Government has scaled up its commitment to taking action to mitigate, adapt and promote capacity for resilience to impact of climate change in the country.
